Clos Pepe is an awesome, unique vineyard site located in the heart of Sta. Rita. Hills owned by Stephen and Cathy Pepe, and farmed by their Winemaker Wes Hagen. There are two clones coming from different areas of the vineyard; Dijon 115 from a lower-vigor section, and Pommard from gravely slopes. The 115 brings elegance and the Pommard provides structure, richness, and dark fruit.

The 2012 blend is once again driven by the Pommard clone and has a powerfully spicy and fruit forward nose. Effusive flavors of 'pinot-funk', concentrated strawberry, and unique sea-bed minerality prevail. The palate is focused upon entry and opens up to be broad and smooth through the finish.
